Description

SS-31 (Elamipretide / MTP-131) is a cell-permeable tetrapeptide that works right at the site of mitochondrial dysfunction by attaching itself to cardiolipin in the inner mitochondrial membrane and helping in the stabilisation of cristae structure and electron transport chain function. Already having extensive preclinical and clinical trials support, SS-31 is one of the most studied mitochondria-targeting compounds.
